Read Escape Rope and got very much out of it. Author clearly has so much in him to tell. Grateful he followed through to do so. It is interesting to read about his assignments, experiences and adventures. And it is great to learn of historic accounts, on-the-ground realities and the ruddy dignity that is true life. It is compelling to read the blend of the author’s personal narrative, anecdotes and well researched factual contexts. Most impressive is the selfless thoughtfulness - the deep and rich understanding that is shared in a way that is without ego - this really sets this writing apart.
