  • Read Escape Rope and got very much out of it. Author clearly has so much in him to tell. Grateful he followed through to do so. It is interesting to read about his assignments, experiences and adventures. And it is great to learn of historic accounts, on-the-ground realities and the ruddy dignity that is true life. It is compelling to read the blend of the author’s personal narrative, anecdotes and well researched factual contexts. Most impressive is the selfless thoughtfulness - the deep and rich understanding that is shared in a way that is without ego - this really sets this writing apart.

CC writes nonfiction based on his friendships and experience as a Public Health Epidemiologist living and working in Africa, Asia, Eastern Europe and the USA. His motivation for writing centers on countering destructive xenophobia spread through media disinformation and demagogues. By introducing you to people and places you never see nor read about, he reinforces awareness about critical political, human rights and environmental issues which are threatening our survival. He also documents a not so distant yet already forgotten era, our time before the internet and 24/7 news. His favourite authors include Mark Twain, Rachel Carson, Vine Deloria Jr., Jonathan Raban and Eliane Brum. Although he currently lives in a far away land, he considers Albuquerque USA his homeland.
